Has another week flown by so quickly? Well bonehead is out of the house and I have the computer all to myself. I am still playing catchup on everything so I think I will start with my house. Last week I told you that it took a long time to get my new home and mom "tricked" me into the new place. She put some new stuff in there, vines, a large jacuzzi pool, a hammock and steps. At first it was very mind boggling. My roaming area was now 3 times what it was before! I had tended to stick near my sleeping tree and jacuzzi, but all the warm suns were on the other side! At first I was a bit nervous about the jacuzzi. It was so big and deep. Mom put some stepping stones in it to help me out but I have found I like sitting on the thing that makes the water move. It vibrates a bit and sometimes I let my back legs and tail drift off the back so it makes me float. It is so much fun to stationary surf. I am a dragon of the 21st Century, after all.
She also has stepping stones that make stairs so I can get in and out of the jacuzzi...but I find going up to my sleeping tree and diving down is much more fun. I like the sound I make when I do that. Also, if bonehead hears it...she runs over to check on me. I just look at her like, what? Never seen a water dragon in water before? Duh, so clueless. She had all these vines in there too and kept picking me up and putting me on them. I would have to hang on for dear life. I thought she was trying to kill me. Finally I decided to see where those vines led and climbed aboard and walked around. I found I could leap on them from anywhere and they were a lot like my sleeping tree leaves. They led to this hammock that is in the corner underneath the warm sun and the sun that isn't warm. This has become my new sleeping spot. The down side to this sleeping spot is I wake up very thirsty as it is the warm side and not pool side. Bonehead figured this out and now mists me first thing so I can chase the water drops down the side of the glass. I have her sooooo trained. She gets up and turns off my warm moon light and mists me. Then she cleans the water in my pool, scratches my chin gets my breakfast ready, mists me some more and then covers the top of the house to keep it nice and humid. If she somehow forgets any of this I have taken to yelling at her in the morning. I just open wide to show her my large teeth and then shut it. She goes into action and makes sure I am watered, chin scratched and food is ready for me then. heehee. But even though I like my new house, I kinda miss bonehead. It is apparently not so easy for her to get me out of the house much anymore as she really struggles to just get my food and water in there. I kinda miss hanging out with her. But I won't tell her that. Nope, I will just keep pressing my face against the side of the glass and peer at her. She will get a clue soon. So over the last month Mom decided somehow that waterdragons swim. I do NOT know how she got this notion in her head! I am not even half grown yet. I was maybe 14 inches or so in total length when she tried to murder me. Yes, folks...I did say murder! She went into the big misty room she takes me to at times. She calls it a bath room. I call it the drowning room. She filled this big jacuzzi up with some water that fell down from this thing and flowed into it. That is kind of a neat thing. I did not know she was going to put me in there. There is nothing to climb on. She made it just deep enough that I couldn't feel the bottom unless I went under the water a little bit or was on the edge. She just tossed me in there! How rude! I whipped down the length of that pool trying to find purchase and then my feet found heaven. Oh did I glare at her. And what does bonehead do???? She is SMILING! Can you believe that! She was absolutely gushing. She was saying something about "How beautiful and amazing". She then called Sean in to witness my humiliation and lifted me from my safe edge and put me back in the middle! She was intent on killing me. Then she did something quite surprising given that she was trying to kill me. She put her hand in the water with me and let me grab on to her. Which I did. She then took me surfing. At first I was scared that she would let me go again. She was saying something about how proud she was of me for my first swim and she knew that was scary but the exercise is good for me. That she was surfing with me go get me used to the big pool. I never wanted to see that pool again! A week later she took me back to the pool. She tried to drown me again. But for some reason it was not as bad as the first time and I even kinda tried to go to the middle part more. But then I got scared again and looked at her and she took me surfing. I really do like the surfing! Bonehead also seems to think that I am interested in that gross pinky thing. Of course I know it is food. I can smell it. I just plain don't want it. She apparently decide to entice me a bit more and made it more 'smelly' by cutting it. After about an hour I licked it. It tasted kinda good. So I licked it some more. She was smiling way too much as I licked my chops. LOL Shoulda seen the disappointed look when I still wouldn't eat that darn thing. I have no idea HOW to eat it. It is shaped so differently from my crunchy logs, white logs and crickets. I have a feeling she will not give up. Who will win the battle of the pinky saga? Stay tuned to find out. I am sure she will try again soon. She is relentless in her pursuits. But I am Drake....dragon extrodanaire! I am still trying to contact the High Commander to see if perhaps he can shed some light on the boneheads as he is very wise. When I get that information I will be sure to share it with all my dragon kin. Well all my dragon buddies out there and there own trained boneheads, thanks for letting me share my stories with you and I will catch ya next week. Drake - Surfer Dude of the Highest Caliber! |
