I’m not a big fan of Dancing with the Stars or really any reality shows, but I know that many of you are so I thought I’d take a moment and give you the scoop on which celebrities will be appearing when the ABC show returns on Monday, September, 22nd.
Here’s the lineup and their dancing partners:
• Toni Braxton, singer, 40, and season one DWTS champ Alec Mazo
• Lance Bass, singer, 29, and Lacey Schwimmer
• Ted McGinley, actor, 50, and Inna Brayer
• Cloris Leachman, actress, 82, and Corky Ballas
• Warren Sapp, former NFL star, 35, and Kym Johnson
• Rocco DiSpirito, chef, 41, and Karina Smirnoff
• Kim Kardashian, TV personality, 27, and reigning DWTS champ Mark Ballas
• Maurice Green, Olympic gold medalist track and field star, 34, and two-time DWTS champ Cheryl Burke
• Misty May-Treanor, Olympic gold medalist beach volleyball player, 31, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
• Susan Lucci, Emmy-award winning soap opera actress, 61, and Tony Dovolani
• Jeffrey Ross, 42, comedian, and Edyta Sliwinska
• Cody Linley, 18, actor, and two-time DWTS champ Julianne Hough
• Brooke Burke, 36, TV personality, and Derek Hough
Wow, Cloris Leachman, at 82 is the oldest ever contestant on Dancing with the Stars! I remember her best from shows like Mary Tyler Moore! I took a peak at her filmography and she’s been active in films and television shows from the 1940’s right up until the present. In fact she’s in three post production movies due out in 2008 and 2009. Good for her!

Did you ever get so excited about the return of a TV show that you’ve mistaken the actual date it was on and either missed it or perhaps jumped the gun by expecting to see it earlier than scheduled?
I did that last night. I saw that there was a two hour Prison Break on and I knew the season premiere was coming up so I set my PVR to tape the show and wrote a post on one of my other blogs about how happy I was to see this show returning and how I was taping the season premiere. Oops! It wasn’t the premiere at all. It was a rerun of last seasons finale!
I’ve got egg on my face for that post! Oh well … maybe it will serve to remind people that there are a lot of our favorite shows set to return next week! Prison Breaks season premiere is on September 1st along with several other shows. It seems that many of our favorite shows are coming back early this season, perhaps because they have un-shown episodes due to last years writers strike.

New dad Keith Urban has recently been diagnosed with a slipped disc in his back according to his publicist Paul Freundlich. There’s no word on what might have caused the injury (and in the case of backs sometimes it is unknown) but the injury apparently won’t affect his current touring schedule.
Keith himself mentioned his back problems to his fans at a concert in Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa in Kelseyville, CA on Saturday night.
Urban, 40, has been dividing his time between his North American tour dates and spending time in Australia with Nicile Kidman and their new baby daughter Sunday Rose. The baby is just 7 weeks old.
If you’re following Urbans tour dates he’s next set to perform at this weekends Country Rocks Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, after that he’ll be in New York City at Columbus Circle for the NFL’s kickoff show on September 5th.

Did you know that not only Madonna has turned 50 this summer, but Prince and Michael Jackson are also 50? Prince turned 50 in June, and Michael is set to turn 50 on August 29th!
I was reading an article in People Magazine this morning and it showed pictures of all three pop stars during the height of their career and one thing I noticed is that all three went through a period in the 80’s and possibly early 90’s where they each wore a glove on one hand.
Just an odd little fact that I found interesting, especially since all their birthdays are so close to one another.

It’s Madonna’s Birthday! Happy 50th to the queen of pop!
Denise Richards has put her 5 bedroom home up for sale. It’s apparently going for about $4.25 million. Spare change to some!
It looks like that carcass that was thought to be proof that Bigfoot exist was really a Big Hoax. DNA tests have revealed that one of the two samples taken came from a human and the other seems to be 96% opossum. So much for that then.
